In 1992, a 7 ft 2 in Congolese Denver Nugget rookie, drafted from Georgetown University the year before, was selected for the NBA All-Rookie First Team and played for the West in the NBA All Star Game that year. His name is Dikembe Mutombo. During the 92/93 season, adidas first launched the ‘Mutombo’. After two decades, it looks like we can expect the release of the retro high-top this fall/winter in three colorways, the classic black/red/white, as well as a black/white/purple, and blue/white/red.
